GARBAGE
by, Janet Gerow
Today, in Thailand – was garbage pick up day. I noticed this as we sat in our taxi behind the garbage truck. We slowly crept down the road. I watched different vendors bring their garbage to the truck and drop it in, never to see it again. There were some vendors who brought their garbage in a bag, emptied the bag, and then kept the bag to reuse.
I started thinking the garbage is my sin. I will always have garbage that needs to be thrown out, for good. Often times I hold onto it until it really starts to stink and then I want to get rid of it.
I have to remember, Jesus wants to spend time with me every day. He wants me to bring him my garbage daily, confess my sin. Jesus will never tell me to wait until it is garbage pickup day and then He’ll take my garbage and get rid of it.
Only my living Savior, Jesus has said, give me all your sin, lay it down, forget it, remember it no more, YOU ARE FORGIVEN!
I’m so glad I don’t have to wait to confess my sins. I can meet with Jesus daily. Jesus wants me to give Him all the garbage and the bag that it’s in. He doesn’t want me to take even the smallest portion back or keep any of it.
I am unworthy of His forgiveness and grace. Without Him I have no meaning or purpose. In Him I can do all things.
Thank you Jesus for taking all my garbage, anytime, everyday.
