I have watched and felt His grace upon my sisters and I the last two days. Although these may seem small or insignificant to others, God helped me see how grace was extended to me.
Tuesday while calling a taxi driver over, I opened the door to confirm a rate and he could drive us where we needed to go. We agreed and got in, but could not leave because a motorcyle cop checked his ID and ticketed him for being parked in the wrong place–which the driver paid for right then. The driver responded in a gentle, easygoing manner. He didn't get mad at us or blame us (because he pulled over to pick us up in an area we assume we weren't supposed to be).
Then, Wednesday, the team "off" day, after a half hour on a very bumpy, jerky bus ride, we were not feeling very well. In fact, we doubted we could stay for the tour. After some help from the bus mates, our tour guide allowed us to get off to get some fresh air, walk, and regroup a little later. Pam (the tour guide) was so sweet, kind, and patient with us. She could have denied us getting off or not allowed us to continue with the tour. But she didn't… she showed us grace. She was a great guide and kindly accepted a bracelet from us in Jesus' name.
It is amazing to see that God uses all people to perform His work. I'm so grateful that He helped me to see His work in these two people in Thailand.
