Galatians 3:28 (Message)-In Christ’s family there can be no division
into Jew and non-Jew, slave and free, male and female. Among us
you are all equal. That is, we are all in a common relationship with
Have you ever felt alone when going through a challenge in your life?
In the midst of trials and tribulation, it’s easy to feel as if you are the
only person in the world that is going through. Our emotions during
the trial can make us feel as if we are by ourselves on an island.
This is how I used to feel. Over the course of my life I have had
to overcome a lot of things from depression, to promiscuity, to
drug abuse, and much more. There were times when I felt no one
understood the pain that I was experiencing. When I came into the
knowledge of Jesus Christ, I learned that I was never alone because
God never leaves us, nor forsakes us. I also learned that Jesus could
indeed identify with my weaknesses and temptations yet He did not
Hebrews 4:15-16 (Message)-Now that we know what we have—Jesus, this great High
Priest with ready access to God—let’s not let it slip through our fingers. We don’t have
a priest who is out of touch with our reality. He’s been through weakness and testing,
experienced it all—all but the sin. So let’s walk right up to him and get what he is so
ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help.
During, this trip to Thailand it was confirmed yet again that what I’ve
had to Overcome and Endure in life was not exclusive to Jennifer
Lucy Tyler. I had the honor of sharing my testimony to Thai women
who are currently working in the red light District of Patpong. Our
mission’s team was able to contribute to throwing a party for these
women at Rahab Ministries. Rahab is located in the heart of the red
light district in between various bars. It’s the one place on that strip
that exudes such light in the midst of darkness. Rahab is truly a light
that cannot be hidden!
Matthew 5:14-16 (Message) “Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light,
bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re
going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you
don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a
light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep
open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt
people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.
Our party consisted of singing, dancing, games, and laughter! It was
simply amazing to see how although there was a language barrier,
we could all communicate through games, laughter, and love. When
it came time to share my testimony with them, Prai, the Director
of Rahab served as my translator. Much of what I shared is in my
current blog titled, “Stripped.” I was in awe as Thai women nodded
their heads in agreement as Prai translated the words from my heart
to theirs. I was reminded in this moment that although we maybe in
different hemispheres of the world, we are all very much alike. We
experience the same challenges, struggles, and victories. In Thailand
they would say we are all “same same, but different.” The most
beautiful part of this day is seeing this women respond to the Gospel
of Jesus Christ after the testimony was shared. Five, Thai women
gave their lives to Christ that day becoming my sisters in Christ. They
now have access to the same grace, mercy, and transformational
power that I did when I came to Christ many years ago. We may
have a different background, speak a different language, and live in
a different place but as Christ makes us whole, we are yet “Same
